Resume
My insatiable curiosity has allowed me to travel the globe while developing my skills in journalism, social development, consulting, web/graphic designs and coding. Below is a brief summary. You can click on the image thumbnail to the left for a full view of my resume.
Education. I have a Bachelor’s of Art in Communications at the University of Maryland, College Park, specializing in social media marketing.
Non-profit. I started my own non-profit in 2010, hosting my first event with Michelle Fenty, the former DC’s mayor’s wife, as guest of honor and raising over $4,000 for a local breast cancer clinic. As President and Founder, I wear many hats and manage a team of four ambitious individuals.
Consulting. I was a consultant for Rodman*s, a 50 year old family-owned grocery chain in the East Coast. As their Digital Marketing Consultant, I oversaw the redesign of their website, redesigned their branding, and established their e-commerce and pharmacy presence online. Currently, I am a marketing consultant, leading their digital marketing strategy, for a growing software reseller in the East Coast.
My favorite experience to date was working in Shanghai, China as a freelance contributing writer for a large international publication.
Other notable experiences include an internship at a high-end PR firm in New York, where I had the priceless opportunity to work behind the scenes at New York Fashion Week, assisting in some marketing/PR work.
Pupil of the world. I have traveled to Nicaragua, Paris, Italy, Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Bali, Jakarta, Bangkok, Taipei, Vietnam, Seoul, Singapore, Puerto Rico, Riviera Maya, and the Virgin Islands.
Hobbies. Beyond work and travel, I enjoy yoga, photography, and hosting charity events. I am an avid reader and set my sights on completing at least 10 novels a year. A favorite recent book that I just finished is Beautiful Ruins by Jess Walter.
