Extracurricular Activities

Outside of academic activities, I enjoy supporting causes that are close to my heart, including my friends' small businesses and projects. Additionally, I used to host charitable events to raise awareness for causes that are imporant to me.

As part of a follow-up project to my summer internship in Nicaragua for the Maryland Social Entrepreneur Corps, my team and I held a symposium with the University of Maryland's Global Initiative Program and the Office of Study Abroad to recap our internship and showcase or work. This event was the culmination of all our hard work that we put into our three-month internship in one of the poorest countries in Central America. I learned so much as an entrepreneur and gained new perspective as a social worker. I was honored to be featured on the cover of our program.

Fashion Fix

For three years I was founder and president of Fashion Fix, a non-profit PR firm which aimed to help raise awareness for other local non-profits. Charities have included Break the Cycle, The Capital Breast Care Center and Dreams for Kids DC. Above are some images from a concert we held at a local art gallery in DC to raise funds for domestic abuse victims.

Charity Closet

I recently hosted a charity event in Washington, DC among young professionals where one-worn clothing items were sold with proceeds going to charity. Our various sponsors included CItyCenter DC, Bisnow, and Honey Tea. I was responsible for garnering sponsorship for the space and coordination of the entire event.

Pro-Bono Consulting

In my free time I do pro-bono consulting for non-profits to help them expand their programs. Above is a flier from a event that I helped manage and promote for the Bethesda Chevy-Chase Regional Service Center.
